2014 Resolutions and Cleaning Calendar

Cleaning Calendar Template

Happy 2014!  It's that time of year again, Resolutions.  I don't know about you, but my track record with resolutions is pretty atrocious.  This year that's going to change!  Determination is the name of the game.  Eyes on the prize.  A little self-motivation...

What helps you stay motivated and on track?  For me it's visual aids, my memory is terrible and a little visual reminder goes a long way.  My goals for 2014: Get Organized and Exercise.  I'm still working out a plan for exercise (ah-hm... cough cough).  But organizing I've got a game plan.

Step 1: Cleaning Calendar posted on the Fridge outlining daily chores.  This way I can know what needs to get done each day and how long I will need to complete these tasks.  Download the Word Template Here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2_rcDWUPXADNmtOZlJkTzg0aGc/edit?usp=sharing The formatting changed a little in uploading but it will change once you save and make your changes.

Step 2: Weekly Menus.  I can have a plan of action before going to the market or stores and adjust these set meals according to what vegetables are fresh and meat that's on sale.  Hubby approved ideas, toddler appealing, I hope this works!! https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2_rcDWUPXADSVMzbHpqQ1Y5dDQ/edit?usp=sharing

After scouring the internet for a Cleaning Calendar template to download for free, I realized that it would save time to just create my own.  The menu was drafted pretty easily based on our favorite meals.  It's just me, hubby and the little one, so I was able to split some meals into two days which saves on time cooking.

The cleaning calendar is based on our house and needs, easily adjustable through Word.
Each room my plan of attack I got from various articles with tips on cleaning quickly.
  • Fast Pickup Every night: I go into each room with two bags, I fill one bag with items that belong on the first floor, the second with items that belong on the second floor.  Everything that doesn't belong goes into a bag, once every room has been hit I go backwards are put what's in the bags where it belongs.
  • Start High End Low - dust ceiling fans and blinds onto the floor, dust furniture onto floor, wash windows, vacuum everything up.
  • Use reusable cleaning items: Old socks are great dusters and can be thrown into the laundry, I refill squirt bottles with homemade cleaning solutions, and reusable cleaning pads for the mop
Well, this is the plan, now time to execute! I hope these can help you with your goals.
